Pacquiao now special assistant to DOJ chief

MANILA, Philippines – Pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao was named today as special assistant to Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Raul Gonzalez, reports said.

According to reports, Gonzalez, under the Department Order 344, created a special office for Pacquiao where the boxer will be a “special assistant" to the Secretary of Justice on intelligence affairs.

Pacquiao, under the order, will be coordinating with the National Bureau of Investigation in carrying out his duty.

Meanwhile, a radio report quoted Gonzales as saying that the "special assistant" post given to Pacquiao is only an "honorary title."
