Belo, three others charged before DOJ

MANILA - Actress Katrina Halili on Monday filed a criminal complaint against Dr. Vicki Belo and three others before the Department of Justice (DOJ) in connection with the proliferation of her sex video with Dr. Hayden Kho.

She accused Belo, Kho’s former girlfriend, Eric Johnston Chua, Dr. Mark Herbert “Bistek”Rosario, and Princess Marie Velasco of violating Republic Act (RA) 9262 or Anti-Violence Against Women and Children Act. Halili maintained that the four respondents were also responsible for the spreading of her sex video.

Chua and Rosario were Kho's friends but the three reportedly had a falling out after the celebrity cosmetic surgeon got romantically involved with Velasco.

Velasco was an employee of Belo Medical Group and Rosario's girlfriend. Velasco's alleged affair with Kho reportedly began while the latter was still dating Belo.

The National Bureau of Investigation has already recommended the filing of charges against Kho for violation of RA 9262 in connection with the sex scandal. Kho had videotaped his lovemaking with Halili without her knowledge and consent.

“Basta gusto ko lumabas ‘yong totoo. Kung sino ang lahat ng may kasalanan, sana maparusahan sila,” Halili said.

'Accomplices'

In her complaint, Halili cited Chua’s affidavit saying that Belo had in her possession a master copy of Kho’s sex videos. The 23-year-old actress also pointed out Chua’s admission that, after making a copy of the sex videos in December 2008, he deleted the files from Kho’s computers and hard drive upon Belo’s instructions.

She lamented that the respondents were aware of the existence of the video but “they did nothing to report the same to the complainant.”

“Acting in cahoots with Dra. Belo, respondents concealed the crime committed by Hayden,” she said.

Halili’s legal counsel, lawyer Raymund Palad, meantime, explained: “This time ang DOJ maglalabas ng subpoena hindi lang kay Hayden Kho, lahat sila as respondents. So, officially charged na sila sa DOJ. Kapag nagkaroon ng preliminary investigation sa DOJ they will be appearing as respondents na.”

Halili said right now she is setting aside her work in show business to focus on her case. “Kung hindi na ako babalik [sa showbiz], walang problema. Uuwi na lang ako sa Palawan."
